Parking Notice
November 16, 2009
Dear Townes at Old Stone Crossing Homeowners:
We hope you are enjoying the cooler weather and getting ready for the upcoming holiday season. With the holidays in mind, the Board would like to remind everyone of proper parking procedures within the community.
In recent weeks we’ve received calls from a number of homeowners having difficulty accessing their driveway, or moving around cars that are parked on the street. Parking on the street affects everyone in the community and creates a safety hazard for everyone as emergency equipment cannot squeeze through, or someone may dart out from a parked car and be injured.
Please make every effort to park in your designated area and not on the street or grass of the community. The Townes at Old Stone Crossing’s documents address parking via the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions, Article IX, which states:
- Section 3. Parking Rights. Ownership of each Lot shall entitle the Owner or Owners thereof to the use of not more than two (2) automobile parking spaces, which shall be as near and convenient to said Lot as reasonably possible, together with the right of ingress and egress in and upon said parking areas. The Association may assign vehicle parking spaces for each Lot. The two automobile parking spaces for Lots having garages shall be the garage and appurtenant driveway.
- Section 6. Parking of Vehicles and Use of Property. No commercial vehicle, house trailer, boat, boat trailer, camper, tent, shed, or any other such vehicle, trailer, vessel or temporary structure shall be permitted to be parked or placed within the Properties except within area(s) which may be specifically designated for such purposes by the Association.
This means vehicles should not be parked anywhere on the street, blocking other driveways, or parking on the grass or sidewalk. For homes with garages, your designated parking area is your garage and driveway. For homes without garages, your are entitled to the use of not more than two (2) parking spaces, which shall be as near and convenient to said Lot as reasonably possible. There is no assigned parking in the community. If you are having guests to your home, overflow parking is located at the pool.
Should the practice of parking on the street, grass or sidewalk continue, the offending vehicles will be towed from the property at owner’s expense (the cost to recover vehicle is $120.00 plus $15 per day storage). The Board may also invite the offending resident to a hearing at which time; fines of up to $100.00 per day may be imposed.
Please make every effort to obey the parking restrictions as stated above. Thank you to all for your continued help in making The Townes at Old Stone Crossing a pleasant and attractive place to live.
