The following is an update on Landscaping in the community:

We would first like to let you know that our landscaping day has been moved back to Tuesday.  Please keep your yard clear of trash cans, toys , chairs, etc…  The HOA is not responsible for any damage to personal property left in yards, nor is the HOA responsible to trim around items left in the yards.  Also, over the next several weeks shrubs are being trimmed.  Any trees that are banging against and growing into gutters or roofs are being trimmed back (clearing Home only) over the next several weeks.

It is very Important to keep grass watered.  It is most effective to water when the sun goes down.

The board has been discussing ideas of community improvement and one idea proposed was a community garden.  In case you don’t know, a community garden would be set up in plots.  Each participant could have a designated plot that would be theirs to maintain and use for growing plants (vegetables, flowers and herbs).  What do you think of the idea?  Would you participate?  There would be a small cost involved for participants, to cover any preparation costs by the Association.  Participate in our poll so we can know.

We wanted to provide you with a quick update of the landscaping work being done around property as spring is a busy time for landscaping.  Providence Landscaping has just completed the 3rd application of fertilization and weed control to the entire property.  They have also recently sprayed the trees for worms.  This spring’s pine needle application is now complete and the seasonal flower planting will be complete in the next three weeks.  Please remember that all  common area are to be kept clear.  This includes gardens, flower beds, bird feeders, toys, lawn furniture, etc..  Theses obstacle are hindering our Landscapers. The Townes landscape day is Wednesday weather permitting.

We are holding our first meeting for the 2010 Landscape Committee on Saturday May 1st at 10:00AM.  The meeting will begin at the pool and may include a walk-thru of the community so bring good shoes.

The role of the Landscape Committee is to advise the Board on matters pertaining to the landscape of the common grounds and entrances. Responsibilities include: review of all aspects of the landscape maintenance; monitor the performance of those responsible for the grounds; assist with development of future or long range planning, request additional funds from the Board for capital improvements.

Pine Needles are on the way!

As we move into spring and towards summer, you will notice Providence Landscaping on property a lot.  For the next few weeks, they will be around the property laying pine needles, and spraying weeds among more routine activities.

If you are interested in serving on this year’s Landscape Committee, please email landscaping@townesatoldstone.com.  The Landscape committee will do frequent walk-throughs of the community and give feedback to the Board on routine maintenance of the landscaping contractor and give suggestions for improvements.

As we announced in another article (here), we have contracted a new landscaping company.  Providence Landscaping Group will start on Tuesday, Spetember 22.  We need your help!  They will begin with cutting and edging at that time, so please make sure your yard is clear of tables, chairs, bikes, toys, etc…

The Townes at Old Stone Crossing HOA Board of Directors is pleased to announce we have approved a landscaping contract with Providence Landscape Group.  We recognize that the landscaping maintenance has become a major issue and made it a priority to address this.  Over the past two months, the board has been in a process of receiving and reviewing bids and we feel confident that Providence Landscape Group will bring the appearance of our community to where it should be.  You will begin to see Providence in and around the community starting Tuesday, September 22 as we signed the contract at our recent Board of Directors’ Meeting.  Thank you for your patience in this process.

The Board of Directors would like to thank the Landscape Committee for their efforts to improve our community. The Landscaping committee is chaired by Charyle R. Pearson. She is joined by committee members Scott Hendry, Dan Kirchner, Jo Lantz and Carole Walton. The Landscaping Committee meets monthly to discuss issues and improvements needed to our landscaping. Committee members will also be working each week with the onsite supervisor from Valley Crest to insure our homeowners concerns are addressed.
